Sail around the iconic islet and along the beautiful coastline of Vila Franca do Campo, combining smooth sailing with scenic views of volcanic landscapes and hidden bays. During the experience, and when sea and safety conditions allow, you may anchor near a beach for swimming or to enjoy snorkeling in clear waters, or simply unwind in the yacht’s comfortable lounge areas.
Two departures are available each day:
Morning Tour: 10:00 to 12:30
Afternoon Tour: 14:30 to 17:00

How long is the sailing tour to Vila Franca Islet?
The catamaran sailing tour to Vila Franca Islet lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes. It departs from Vila Franca do Campo marina, goes around the islet and then we will sail along the coast of Vila Franca sightseeing its beautiful hidden beaches. Includes time for swimming and snorkeling. Both private and shared group options are available.
What is the difference between a private and shared sailing tour to Vila Franca Islet?
A private tour (from €540) gives exclusive use of the 47ft catamaran — ideal for families and groups. A shared tour (from €100 per person) joins up to 12 travelers on the same boat. Both options follow the same route and duration.
Are shared tours guaranteed to run?
Shared tours normally require a minimum number of guests to run. If the minimum is not reached, SailZen may suggest another date, offer a private option, or cancel the shared tour according to the booking conditions.
To keep the experience comfortable and high-quality, shared tours are limited to a maximum of 12 guests.
Can you swim at Vila Franca Islet during the sailing tour?
Unfortunately the access to the islet is exclusively made by a specific ferry and swimming near it is generally too crowded. Guests can swim, snorkel and use stand-up paddle boards when anchored at a beach nearby. Entry to the islet pool is subject to daily access quotas managed by Clube Naval de Vila Franca do Campo.
Why can’t I see shared tour availability far in advance?
Shared tour availability may open closer to the date, especially during high season. SailZen gives priority to private tour requests first, as they are the main focus of our operation.
If you are interested in a shared tour and do not see availability online, please contact us with your available dates and number of guests. We may keep your request in mind and let you know if a shared departure becomes available.
Is SailZen suitable for pregnant guests, children or elderly guests?
It may be possible, depending on the guest, the experience booked and the weather and sea conditions on the day.
Pregnant guests, children, elderly guests or guests with reduced mobility should contact SailZen before booking. We will always give honest advice based on safety, comfort, boarding conditions and the expected sea state.
Safety comes first, and we prefer to advise clearly before the booking rather than create unrealistic expectations.
Can we celebrate a birthday, proposal or special occasion onboard?
Yes. Private SailZen tours are ideal for birthdays, proposals, anniversaries, family celebrations, honeymoon moments and relaxed company events.

Can we pay by card onboard?
Card payments onboard are available for drinks purchased through the SailZen Floating Bar.
If you would like to leave a tip for the crew, this is always appreciated and received with gratitude. Tips are kindly accepted in cash only.
